Welcome guys and dolls! We are so glad that you have decided to check out our Web page. We hope that you will find the information presented here to be useful in assisting you to find opportunities to discover and pursue the Louisville swing dance scene. We have tried to make this site beneficial to both novices and old pros. We are certain that if you come out to one of our many events you will enjoy the company of our many members and learn a new step or two.
The Louisville Swing Dance Society was created by Louisville dancers in 2000 in order to learn traditional swing dance styles through research and sharing knowledge, to promote swing dancing around Louisville, and to create a social atmosphere where Louisvillians can meet new people and have fun. After six years our group continues to grow. It is hard to believe that what started out as bimonthly "practice sessions" in the backroom of J. P. Kayrouz with a dozen or so untrained dancers has developed into the 200-member organization it is today. |
